Description :
  • Responsible for the execution of client engagements assisting fraud investigations, litigation support and proactive risk assessments with a wide variety of clients, industries, and disputes
  • Lead forensic accounting and legal activities and engagements such as calculating and analyzing economic loss claims, providing advice, preparing financials, and tracing funds/accounts
  • Execute the development of independent detailed expert financial reports
  • Carry out reports of highly detailed, meticulous engagements and contribute to deliverables
  • Execute investigative plans on sensitive litigious matters and objectively analyze complex financial matters
  • Analyze financial data, examine documents, conduct in-depth research and lead Forensic engagements such as contract disputes, asset misappropriation and conflicts of interest
  • Manage project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Execute transactions through the provision of client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating engagements
  • Perform needs assessments and lead the collection, development, research and analysis of data (through website research, report review, interviews, focus groups and surveys)
  • Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
  • Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks
  • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicable
  • Leverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business, and community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities
  • Promote MNP advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activities
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Develop, coach, and train team members towards professional and personal development
  • Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement
Requirements :
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation or Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designation.
  • 7 to 9 years of experience in a public accounting; previous experience in advisory or consulting is considered an asset
  • Ability to achieve Enhanced Reliability level Government of Canada security screening
  • Experience in business and practice development is considered an asset
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be flexible to travel as required
